I've gone on an angel craze lately. To tell you the truth I just kind of woke up one morning and thought, "Greaser angels," "Hippie angels." It must be done. So here we are! And here are some facts about the characters.
Lucifer:
Inspired by a youth subculture in the 50's. Also known as Greasers. Leather jackets, tough attitudes. Lucifer is perfect for this era because he's such a huge rebel. The story begins with humanity being created (of course) and Luci storming off in a rage. He ends up hanging around some demons and frequently visits earth to get into trouble.
Things that need improvement are his hair.
Gabriel:
Inspired by the hippie subculture in the 1960's. When I started drawing Gabriel, I really wanted him to be a prep, but it just didn't work out like that. He ended up looking more like a hippie, which turned out pretty cool. With Michael and Lucifer butting heads constantly, Gabriel prefers gazing at flowers or small animals and generally staying out of it. He is also unable to speak for unknown reasons, but manages to communicate with facial expressions and mental images. Gabriel is closer to Lucifer than Michael, and desperately wishes that things would return back to normal.
Michael: Prep, Preppie, Social (SoC) 1940's, 1950's--???
A SoC usually describes someone who's rich, powerful and upper class. I use the term to describe Michael, as he's Mr. Perfect. His wings are perfect, his hair is perfect. And he hates that Lucifer's ruining what he thinks is their perfect family. While he might come off as snobby and stuck up, he's also extremely loyal and would die for his family, so it kills him to see Lucifer turning to the dark side.
Improvements needed, eyes, maybe. And hair...I think.
Anyway, I'll begin drawing more angels in the future. If you have any suggestions for eras or subcultures, as long as they aren't disgusting or horrifying, feel free to message me!
